RE: Trying a reset
You aren't doing anything wrong --- you are doing great! You are trying to determine your TDEE, and the only real way to figure it out is to surpass your TDEE by a little.

You want to reset at the highest intake level possible and stay there for a minimum of 8 or preferably 12 (or more) weeks. In order to do this, you have to determine *your true* TDEE. To do this, you gradually increase your intake until you start to see slow, steady gains *that do not stabilize over time*. Now, those gains that you are seeing may just be simple fluctuations due to sodium, normal hormonal cycles, DOMS or many other factors, or you could have possibly surpassed your TDEE. Even if you did, that is *not* a bad thing! You want to figure out what that number is *for you*, rather than relying on calculators or on-body devices. I would stay at this level for another week or two and just see what happens. If it stabilizes or drops back down, then you know you are right around your TDEE (or under it). If it continues to creep upwards, then simply drop back to 2,100 and see if it will stabilize there.

Regardless, this is a relatively small gain and may just be a normal fluctuation, or if you are eating over TDEE, that's still a good thing to do! It is the only way you will be able to determine *your* numbers. Hang in there and remember NOTHING YOU ARE DOING IS IRREVERSIBLE. Any small gains can be reversed by dropping your intake back - no biggie!

So, to answer your question, yes this is going to work. You are doing perfectly and are just working your way through the process. If you are ever in doubt, just go back and read The Metabolism Reset Guide and refresh your memory (Home page under the Start Here tab). You are doing great!!
