Big Grin Green Smoothie - hide those veges!
Green smoothies

2 cups baby spinach (one handful i reckon is about a cup)
1 banana
1 tsp grated ginger
110gms pinapple
1 cup water

Blend together in blender
makes 2 serves

Per serve
88 cals
21g carbs
2g protein
27 sodium
3 fibre

Really good for you and great way to hide those veges with out tasting them. Recipe was from a nutritionist!

Enjoy!

Can always just add any type of juice like orange or even a pear (or a canned fruit which is soft). The good thing about smoothies is that you can add whatever you like hehehe

RE: Green Smoothie - hide those veges!
Not sure if they would work with veggies, but I always add at least 2 egg whites to my smoothies. They make it really thick and creamy, and add lots of protein! Was something my dad taught me when I was little, but he didn't really do it for the health benefits, he just liked the thickness!

I used to think that the meaning of life could be found in a spicy prawn sushi roll, now I am 158% sure that it is found in any type of protein. ANY type.

RE: Green Smoothie - hide those veges!
It is spring here and there are lots of green things in the garden right now. So i've totally got back into my green smoothies.

Some great things other than spinach i've discovered works well:

- Pea shoots or pea leaves
- Broad bean tops
- Broccoli leaves
- Kale
- Silverbeat

Nom Nom Nom

This morning i made one with:

- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup kale leaves
-1/2 cup broccoli leaves
- 1 banana
- 4 strawberries
- 1 tbs peanut butter
- 2 tbs rolled oats
- 1 scoop unflavoured protein powder

I also had one today!

1.25c almond milk
2c. spinach
1 banana
1T chia seeds
1c. blueberries
ice

I've decided that I'm going to try to start my day with a green smoothie and maybe even end my day with one. I've heard many people say that it really helps with energy levels.
