Runners?
Any runners out there? Just looking for some advice on mixing the strength and the running and not fatiguing my legs too much, yet making them stronger?? If there's anyone out there I'd love to some help fine tuning my training plan! big grin

RE: Runners?
I am a runner - well trying to be!

Not sure I am qualified to help with your answer! Just thought that I would say hi!

Me I rotate running with weights and and have a day off inbetween however that does mean I only exercise 3/4 days a week - which sometimes doesn't feel quite enough - so interested in answer also!

I only run if something is chasing me! big grin
But if you love to run, run for endurance purposes. The strength training will make your legs stronger. And, I would say do them on separate days also.

I'm running Tues. Thurs. Sat & Sun now, with Fridays as a rest day. So I have Mon & Wed for strength and I want another day in there too! Well, until end of July anyway. I'll start my training for my first full marathon then! big grin

RE: Runners?
My coach always said to run same day as strength with one full day at least of rest between to repair muscle fibers. However, difficult to train for long distance doing this BC my legs are usually good for nothing after lifting. So not sure what the right balance is. I used to run way more but I have cut back a ton now. Its harder to run with more and more leg mass.

So do you run after you do strength training or before?
