Hello Everyone!
I thought I'd introduce myself to the group. No young chick here. I'm 47 ys/o, 5'3", and 130#, give or take. I've been losing & regaining the last 10# for about a year now. I'm pretty fed up with restrictive dieting and feeling like crap all the time. I just want to eat normally and not feel guilty and naughty about it.

I like exercising and lifting weights although I don't feel I've made any huge progress or gains with it. I still feel like a weakling. I'm changing gears. I've been having a weekly session with a trainer since July but I think tomorrow when I see her I'm going to tell her I want to shift my focus from losing fat to gaining muscle and strength. I want to give the Strong Lifts 5x5 a shot and I'm hoping she wont have any problem getting me started with this.

I just got a bodymedia band today so I'll be playing around with that for a couple of weeks to get my average TDEE. My plan is to eat at TDEE, do Strong Lifts 3 days a week, 1 Kettlebell class a week (I'd classify this as a metabolic resistance training), And 1 or 2 cardio and/or yoga days thrown in. The kettlebell day is a class I take with my boyfriend on our weekend so I don't really want to give it up. I figure I can count it as a cardio day.

When i write everything out it looks like I might be biting off more than I can chew. BUT... If I get over whelmed it will be the cardio and/or yoga that get the boot. I want to make strength training my focus. I find I do so much better with a clear plan in place rather than just winging it like I have been doing.

Anyhoo. This is me. I'm a pretty quiet and reserved person. I don't make a lot of noise on these forums unless I feel like I have something valid and useful to say, which is not very often. Typing is not easy for me! It takes me along time to write out a post. I hope to start a journal on here not to be social but to at least keep track of my food and calories. I'm very good with journaling when I'm restricting ... but with maintenance all hell breaks loose. When I'm being bad with food... I just don't write it down cuz I guess I don't want to see it written out. I need to get over it and put it all out there so I can see what I'm eating and make the adjustments needed.

Looking forward to eating more...hopefully weighing less, keeping track of myself and maybe making some friends in the process! I'm in Southern Maine in case there are any other Mainers around happy
