Mary Jo's Journal... Yo.

RE: Mary Jo's Journal... Yo.
Thanks Anitra!

I just finished another Strong workout. Only one more Stage 2 workout and then on to the next! I've had a great week which is fabulous after having the May month I've had. Whew.

Lifting was good. I swear I am done with these plank with pulldown bees-knees. They are so hard. oh so hard. Sure I can handle over 2 min plank, but these are killin' me! Bleh. Today was my last one.

Push ups are freakin hard. I'm getting one good one in and working my way up to 5 before the end of the month. I can do a decent job at an incline but from the floor is another thing. It's difficult to keep my gut/core tight while trying to not collapse on the floor when descending. I'm sure my cut isn't helping me gain strength to make push ups easier, but I will get there.

My cut is going decent. I know I need to work on getting more protein but for now I'm happy getting over 100g in a day. I'm focusing on getting some lifting in, counting the calories, staying at a 15% cut, and staying stress free. I think i'm golden on my goal list.

All in all, a great week and day!

That sounds like a great goal list. Perfectly reasonable. I'm glad you had a great week.

Fantastic goals, Mary Jo! Keep up the great work. Two minute planks? Wow! I hate those things and avoid them way too frequently. You rock!

One week done and it was successful. I counted my calories, got three weight lifting sessions with some HIIT in, and had generally low stress. My weight is a bit lower than the past few weeks but who knows. A downward trend at the moment. Works for me.

My strength and endurance is higher. I remember a year or so ago that I would easily get winded doing lunges and I had no balance when doing them. Now i'm reverse lunging with 2x20lbs. My knee that I heard pop more than a year ago was weak and had a bit of pain after doing squat at a high weight. Now my knees are happy and strong and I'm getting stronger squats as time passes.

A funny thing is that I sewed a new miniskirt for myself yesterday. I had to try it on to finish the waistband and general fitting. Once I put my back darts in, I noticed how high my butt is. I was like... damn, can that get any higher. HA!

This week my goal is to keep counting my calories, finish up Stage 2 and move into Stage 3 of Strong, keep at my 15% cut, and work on low stress.

Maevvis, Strong book is awesome. I definitely find it challenging and not too time consuming. I've done one workout in Stage 3. Today I'll do another. I'm excited to get Stronger. happy

Another week gone. With mid-cycle in play and my weight staying relatively steady, I feel like I'm making progress. My lifts are strong. My stress is low. I've stuck with the calorie counting. I seemed to be only slightly above my cut this week, but I think that's darn good with all the good food I have had this week. Hopefully some of the eye-balling isn't too far off. happy

I hit most of my goals this past week. I need to get better at counting the calories and moving more. I missed my workout on Friday but things happen. I'm going to lift today. It works out.

My goals for this week; same as last: Keep up with the lifting (3x this week), count those calories, stay at 15% cut, and keep the stress low.

Maybe by next week I'll add another goal. This seems enough right now.
