so much food!!

RE: so much food!!
so I continued at TDEE for a few more months and just started cutting around October! Trouble is I've kept a pretty consistent 300-500 calorie cut per day (depending on how much I burn based on my Fitbit... I want to make sure I at least intake my BMR so some days the cut is lower)... but I haven't lost anything and it's been 5 weeks! I do sometimes take one day (once every ten days or so?) when I eat what I burned to take a break from cutting. Is that what's stalling me out? Any thoughts you all have would be greatly appreciated!

RE: so much food!!
Wow, great job staying at your TDEE for that long! Awesome stuff! So, what did you finally determine your TDEE to be, and what is your cut figure?

To answer your question, yes those higher calorie days could potentially be messing with your success, but not too much (as long as you aren't over-doing it on those days...) Personally, I would try to minimize those days, just to limit the variables at this point (as you are trying to figure things out).

And no, it is not unusual to not see those big drops on the scale when you begin to cut, especially the first time around. Sometimes the body is simply not ready to "come out and play" after dealing with a lifetime of diets (and in your case things like HCG). I would stay at this cut for 6 - 8 weeks, then take a 2 week TDEE diet break and eat at your TDEE, or possibly a bit higher before trying another cut.

You are doing awesome, just stay consistent and things will all start to fall into place. And keep strength training ... muscle is the key to a strong metabolism!

RE: so much food!!
I base my calories per day on what my Fitbit tracks. At TDEE I was netting around 1900 which is fairly accurate to what I average according to my tracker.

I'll stick with it! I'm glad to know it can still take time; makes me feel less frustrated! Thank you!

RE: so much food!!
so here's a quick update and a new question... about three weeks ago I started hiking between 3-7 miles at my local greenway every day I'm off from work, so naturally I'm burning much more than I was before. as a nurse my work days are also pretty busy and even on slower days I make sure I get my 10,000 steps in
