Feeling results more then seeing them?
I've been eating more to weigh less for about 5 months and cutting for about 1 of those months. I can't say I'm seeing any tangible results based on the scale (not entirely true, I lost 2 pounds since I started cutting) and the measuring tape is actually showing a PLUS in inches. I did some side by side pics since I started lifting at the gym but there isn't much change. I'm staying patient, it's only been a month.

My DH tells me the other day I *feel* more solid. Don't ask me how he knows or I'll be embarrassed! big grin I also *feel* like I fit into my clothes better and I *feel* smaller.

So my NSV is a *feeling* right now. I'm eating what I want (trying to stick with clean eating and after an internal fight with myself I am keeping gluten in my diet! rolling on the floor) and I want to shout from the rooftops how happy I am to be here.

I think in a few more months I'll see real "results". I know I have a long way to go and Kiki's videos are helping me stay focus and TRUST the process.

RE: Feeling results more then seeing them?
I am so happy for you! Yes, the changes are slow, but they ARE happening... Keep up the fabulous work!

Remember, the tape measure can be a little bit of a tricky "tool" to use to measure success. Yes, we all would like to see our measurements go down, but when you are strength training, you are also working on building muscle, so some of those fat losses may be accompanied by muscle gains. But. obviously since your clothes are fitting better and you are feeling more solid, these are positive changes! Keep taking those pictures!!

Kiki's videos are AWESOME! So glad you are finding them helpful...

RE: Feeling results more then seeing them?
I totally know what you mean, and have had ahem, similar assessments by Mr. Emma. The scale is manipulative, as we know. Sometimes measuring doesn't wholly tell the picture by itself either. I think this can be a combo of WHERE you measure and what's actually going on... For instance, my forearms and calves have gone up. This is good, as most importantly it means I'm stronger and also, it balances out the rest of my legs/arms. Also, when I was lifting in Meso 3, my hips measurement went up because my booty was more... bootylicious... than it is now? But my waist has gone done. But that is also where I fluctuate the most b/c of water, so its not a great idea for me to pin all my hopes on that one measurement.

Side question: Does anyone else have to fight to keep their butt? If I am not heavy heavy DL and squatting it seems to really love to go away quite easily.

Regardless, the feeling that you look better and feel better in your skin is probably the best NSV there is. I'm so happy you posted your NSV.

RE: Feeling results more then seeing them?
LOL. I can honestly say that hubs is always the first one to "notice" my changes wink

I've started just including him in my list of measuring assessments, LOL. If he's complimenting and admiring, I know I'm still on the right track! tongue

Soak up those NSVs and OWN them. Over time you will see that those are key to success on this path when the finicky scale wants to convince you otherwise.

So happy the vids are helpful to you!! Stay strong, because it's totally worth it. We see all types of people come and go, depending on what they were searching for when they started, but those of us who truly DIVE in and say "to heck with diets!" for good, really end up experiencing a freedom far beyond what we imagined (and a decent bod to boot tongue happy dance )

RE: Feeling results more then seeing them?
I agree with everyone. It took me a while, but I did end up feeling a change first, then seeing it in my clothing fit and then truly seeing it on my body. It'll come!

I have that book loaned out to a friend, but yeah, I agree! I never ran a program totally as is, but I think I want to do the advanced when I get it back. The key for my butt just seems to be heavy heavy heavy. Squatting a million times with lighter weights does nothing.
