I'm excited to see how high your TDEE goes! I've always been a numbers person. This is right up my alley!

RE: Taking my time through this process
Here's my update after a week of eating 2400/day:

Week 6 of figuring out TDEE (increasing 100/week)

7/20/2015 2400 137.6 Climbing
7/21/2015 2400 (ish) 138.2 30mins BBG
7/22/2015 2450 138.2
7/23/2015 2400 139.2 30mins BBG
7/24/2015 2400 138.6 30mins BBG
7/25/2015 2400-2500 N/A Cottage
7/26/2015 2400 N/A Cottage

Start of Week 7:

7/27/2015 2400 140.2 30mins BBG

As you can see my weight has bumped up to 140.2 - which is the highest it has been so far. Definitely scared me a bit this morning but am trying to remain realistic happy Reminding myself that it's not a big deal and thinking big picture. One thing that was different about this weekend is that I ate meat (which I rarely do) so maybe that also affected the weight fluctuation...

Out of curiosity I also measured my waist which I noticed has gone up by about 1/2 an inch or so. Is this normal too? Can water weight affect that?

My plan is to stay at 2400 for this next week (not bring it up) to see what happens. I downloaded the Happy Scale app and have input my progress to help track trends. After that I will reassess.

I feel like 2300 is my TDEE just based on how I'm feeling but who knows. Looking forward to seeing what happens. I figure even if I get over my TDEE amount this will count towards my reset time so it's a win win happy

Look forward to your thoughts!

RE: Taking my time through this process
I'll let the knowledgable moderators comment on the TDEE because I'm still hunting for mine. However, I have lots of experience with water weight. I actually have stopped measuring regularly because I deal with water weight CONSTANTLY for all of the regular reasons (TOM, Workouts, sodium) plus I don't deal well with heat and have immediate water retention issues due to gluten sensitivity. My waist measurement changes all the time.

I have decided to measure only once every couple months due to the fluctuations. Find what works for you. We're all different!

Thanks for your thoughts. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with the fluctuating waist measurements! I'm good with daily weigh ins while I search for TDEE. Definitely not long term though. I find I'm able to detach myself from the number much better as the weeks go.

I'm really excited to be close to my TDEE though! I saw that you have bumped up to 2500. That's great! Getting close happy

RE: Taking my time through this process
2500 is an amazing number! I hope that this is more like a cut number though when all TDEE calculations are done. I've never been a big eater but man can I pack away the food these days! I usually need to put in some high calorie things each day to keep my numbers up. Some butter on popcorn or some ice cream. mmmm, it's a rough life! happy

RE: Taking my time through this process
Yup, water weight - it causes the bloat which increases measurements. Normal to gain this much at this point. It will settle.

Thanks! It went down a little bit today. I'm going to see how the rest of the week goes. Trying not to let it get to my head. Can't help it sometimes Sad
