Calories? Protein? Macros? Which one is most important?

RE: Calories? Protein? Macros? Which one is most important?
Fats are so vital to our health. Not only are they our primary source of energy, but fat is what allows the body to absorb and store the fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K). Fats are also components of hormones and are necessary for optimal brain function. Also, the essential fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6) cannot be made by the body and therefore need to be ingested.

In addition to seeds, what about nuts, nut butters, avocado, salmon? Definitely try to increase that closer to the 25% to 30% range. You may even find that the quality of your hair, skin and nails may improve :-)

This is the best thing about getting older. Health becomes as important as being thin!! Its whats saved me from dropping calories below 1000 over the past ten years. Im a vegetarian and the fussiest eater ever (see previous post where I blame my.mother haha) so list of foods ill eat is so limited. Nuts I can eat so will add those. My hair and skin are pretty poor condition so hopefully ill see improvement there

Yep, nuts and nut butters are great sources of fat! Also, if you can't eat fatty fish like salmon, you might consider taking some Omega supplements...

Would it be worth trying to push through that phobia in small ways? (I'm a CBT therapist so I have done such things before) Are you vegan? If not, CHEESE! LOTS of CHEESE! If you are vegan, then nuts, nuts and more nuts as well as avocados.
