New guy says....Hi
Hello everyone,

I'm a memeber of the EM2WL group on MFP and thought I should come over here and see what else I could be learning.

I little backstory on me, I'm a career fat kid. I've been heavy most of my life despite having 2 athletic older brothers. I have had times where I was in "good shape" but I've never been strong. I'm 37 now and I decided on 12 months ago on my 36th birthday that I was going to focus on getting strong and make fitness a part of my life for the rest of my life. I work out solely in my garage following a powerlifting style of training. My programming is all by Paul Carter of Lift-Run-Bang. After doing 3 rounds of Wendler 5/3/1 I decided to go back to the Lift-Run-Bang Template and Lift-Run-Bang 365.

When I found the EM2WL group on MFP I was amazed that such a concept existed and could ever work. Probably because I'm a yo-yo dieter and have been for years. I always thought if I wasn't losing I was eating too much.

So after reading all of the intake material, threads, watching youtube vids and listening to every podcast I could find with Kiki on it I decided to do a reset. Once I reached maintenance I stayed there for 12 weeks or so and I am now entering a cutting phase. Wish me luck! I really go used to eating anything that came within arm's reach laughing

Thanks for listening/reading and I'm gonna cut this before it become the book of psalms.

Thanks everyone, I hope to learn lots from you guys!

Xavier

RE: New guy says....Hi
Welcome!! So glad you have joined us over here! Sounds like you are already off on a great start simply by implementing the strength training and completing the 12 week reset...

It's so true, after eating at TDEE for so long when you have to start cutting back on calories you truly miss each and every one laughing So, how long have you been cutting or did you just start? Can't wait to hear more about your progress. And if you have any questions along the way, this is the place to come ... we will be happy to help you work through the process.

Like mrsukyankee suggested, feel free to start a journal of your own in the Personal Journals section of these forums. It's a great place to track your progress, interact with others going through the same process and if you put some of your history and stats in the initial post we can always refer back to that if you ever have any questions along the way. (So much easier than trying to search through multiple threads...)

Again, so glad to have you here ... can't wait to hear more about your progress.
