New to this. Still Trying!
I'm 5'2, 30 Years old and body fat of 36%. I started on weight watchers and successfully lost 25 pounds.. Then things didn't move for months, so I knew it was time to change things up. I then decided to start strength training. I am coming to my second month of strength training/cardio 5 times a week. Although the scale hasn't moved and measurements are slightly changing there has been no "real" progress. For these 2 months I have been eating about 1400-1500 calories a day.

I have a charge HR (Fitbit) and I average a TOTAL burn daily of about 2900 calories. I decided to start eating 1800-2000 calories a day and within one day of doing that I went from 188 to 185! Now One week later after increasing my calories I am back up to 189, but my bodyfat is down 1.4%. Last time I measured it, it was at .9%.

Am i eating too much? I figure I am still creating a deficit of about 800-900 on days I workout. I just want to get on the right path. Any information would be helpful!

First of all welcome! So glad you have found us!

Have you gotten a chance to read the Starter Kit and the Metabolism Reset Guide? They can both be found on our Home page under the Start Here tab. If you have not read them yet, they are definitely suggested reading and chock full of valuable information.

When you get a chance, give us a bit more information about yourself such as your stats, more about your dieting history and a few more specifics about your current workout program (how is that 5 times a week broken down?)

If your TDEE average is 2,900, you can probably see already that you have been way under-eating and most likely slowed your metabolism down to match your intake (and thus the plateau you have hit). What you need to do now is to continue to increase your calories and get your metabolism revved back up. We will be able to help you a bit more after we get some more history, but it sounds as though you would benefit from a metabolism reset.

I would definitely read both of the suggested reading I mentioned above so you have a thorough understanding of the process and what to expect. As you increase your intake and go through the reset process weight loss is most likely not something you will be seeing. Instead, you will be concentrating on healing your metabolism and getting it back up and running where it should be. Also it will help you to understand that those big jumps on the scale (either up or down) are always water weight. Fat loss (or gains) are much, much slower.

To answer your question, no, you are definitely not eating too much, and in fact you are still at way too steep of a deficit. So, please take a look at both of those links and then get back to us with your stats and history so we can help you get on the right path.
