Trying a reset
I've now increased my calories to 2200 from a start of 1800. Started at 148, went to 149 them 148 and now 150. Going to hold at 2200 and see what I weigh next week. If I'm the same I'll use this calorie amount as my reset amount.

44 years old, goal of 140lbs, 5'6.75", currently 150. Kettlebells twice a week, HIIT once, cardio kickboxing 3-4 times and self defence once. I've cut down the kickboxing to twice a week in the hopes of changing things up.

Sounds like you are on the right path! I just wanted to make sure you got a chance to read The Metabolism Reset Guide... If not, definitely recommended reading, as the entire process is described in detail. If you haven't read it, it can be found on our Home Page under the Start Here tab...

Thanks.

I've now upped my calories to 2200 but I went to 150 lay week and now 151 so I will see where I'm at next week. I did a double workout yesterday and was at a wedding last night so maybe it's water weight, but it's the second week in a row of a gain. I need to try and hit my calories without going over on sugar so much and I need to get more protein in which I'm struggling with.

Yea, protein is really key. If you track nothing else, track (and hit) the protein.

Definitely give it a few more weeks before you make any adjustments, calorie-wise, as very often the gains/losses you see are related to hormones, sodium, water retention, DOMS... I usually recommend staying at each calorie level (while trying to determine TDEE) for a month or so ... that way you have a chance to get through an entire monthly (hormonal) cycle, along with all of it's fluctuations.

So I weighed in on Sunday and was back to 148.8, however I was drinking the night before so I'm not sure if I should up my calories or hold?

I would hold steady for a day or two, just to see if it was due to water loss (alcohol can cause dehydration). So are you still at 2,200 calories?

Yes I've stayed at 2200. Waiting to see if I gained and last it or if it's there to stay. I'd like to start cuting early in the January, but I want to make sure I'm at the right TDEE.

Hopefully I'll weigh in today, I don't have scales so I weigh in at my moms. It will be at the lunch hour, so not first thing, but at least consistent scales.

I'm wondering if this is going to work. I'm now 153lbs! What am I doing wrong? I'm still using 2200 calories. I can't think of anything very salty I've had. I know I've had my sweet treat at night and I've been doing home made stuff over the dark chocolate covered berry clusters.
