finally found the site
I did not realize I had joined your site, all I remembered was "liking" you on facebook. I originally met up with the emtwl ladies on mfp, but never got into the real weightloss, as well as interest until last July. I lost 24 lbs, not quite to my goal, but understand something about the need to build muscle.

I did well with my muscles in my legs because my exercise choice became walking, with as much "uphill" as I could find. Then I wanted to get into more upper-body stuff, but before I could do that, I found I was developing rotater cuff problems.

Anyway, I need to some of this for different boards. I'm here because I want to get a good program of all-around weight-training. So glad to see/find the site, and that I was already a member. I am 63 so I need more brain-exercise as wellwink LOL!! denise

thank Anitrawink I am really glad to be here. I'm starting off by reading some posts, and I will definitely be wanting to yack with you gals, as well as guys. If there are other seniors here, I would love to meet them as well, but if not, it's ok with me too. I have been hanging with some seniors but they are terribly sedentary, and I never want to go "there" no matter how old I getwink Denise

Are you on Pinterest? That is where I go when I need recipe inspiration. EM2WL has a Pinterest page with lots of boards, some specifically targeted at High Protein Recipe Ideas, High Fiber Recipes, Lower Calorie Recipes as well as lots of other links to articles and blogs:

Yes, I'm on Pinterest, love it!! Ok, I can find things there as well. I think it's safe to say we can eat regular foods, just make sure we get the protein we need. I do need to try and avoid sugars, I think I get a bit hypoglycemic from sugars. Sometimes just a shot of water will take care of that, sometimes not.

Yep, our Pinterest page has lots of great ideas for high fiber and high protein recipes. That is where I go for inspiration.

Yes, definitely eat "regular" foods ... that's the whole point is that we don't need to live restricted lives! Try to eat whole, unprocessed foods when you have that option available. When you are away from your kitchen (like out to dinner with friends) just make the best choices you can, and then enjoy the remainder! I also try to avoid sugars, only because I know how I feel after I consume them, however I certainly don't let that stop me from enjoying my chocolate each and ever day!
