Hi allhappy

I'm just so happy to be here, and I already have been with MFP since 2009, so familiar with logging my food and activities.

Today I spent some time familiarizing myself with the site, logging my food into my diary on mfp, and setting some new goals. My diary will remain open for anyone who wants to take a peek at what I do, and the new stuff I will be doing, strength-training.

I'm keeping photos & measurements I took today, so that hopefully, I will have some "afters" to compare with them. I sure can't wait until the "afters" can be postedapplause but I also know it takes time, and dedication. Although, this can't be the only thing I focus on, not for me, but it will be a big, main part of my physical life. And it sure helps with the emotional, mental, and spiritual parts of my life as well.

Today I started out with the first thing I do each a.m. when I awake, drink at least 8 ounces of water, then I start my coffee, which I drink 2 cups, probably less because I never finish the 2 cups container with a lid. I just have plans for my day so far, so I will let you know more, when I complete my day. I am logging, and completed my breakfast log so far. Today was blueberry pancake day, so I best follow through with my exercise/weight-trainingwink Denise

With walnuts too!! LOL!! I had to deliver a couple left-overs to my neighbor. An older fellow that goes out to eat, many seniors do that so he was happy for some home-cooked pancakes. Said he'd eatin already at the restaurant but wanted the pancakes anyway, lolwink

Today I couldn't find the little program I found somewhere between here and MFP, so I just did some things I put together for now:

Using my stretch bands I did 3 sets of each of these, with 12 reps:

5lb dumbell squats
Pull-downs using my door to loop the band over
and 3 other arm-shoulder-upper back stretches I don't know what to call, lol!

Anyway, that's it for today. The squats were great adding weight for the first time (5 lbs in each hand). I may still throw in some lunges, but I really am not feeling that great after "I think" eating some boiled eggs yesterday that were farm, fresh. I know the last time I felt sick, I had eaten the same eggs from the same dairy/farm out here. I usually buy my eggs from the store but these were given to me for delivering some bread to some families.

I'm doing ok logging my food today, so it's really been an alright day, but I still can't wait to join the gym next Wednesday (payday). It just happens to be an easy walk from my place too, so I can get some cardio before I even get therewink Or drive if I feel lazy, lol! See you all later, Denise

If you want to cut out lunges, I'd suggest stair raises instead - use those hand weights and step up and down the stairs, switching legs every time. I can't do lunges due to knee issues and those always worked well for me.

Good job on adding weights to your squats!
