How often do y'all replace your shoes?

How often do y'all replace your shoes?
I know that with all athletic shoes are subject to different timeframes for replacement, but I'm not having a lot of luck finding out how often you should replace lifting shoes.

I invested in a good pair of Reebok lifting shoes and have been using them since mid-January. I don't know if I should replace them after a certain number of workouts, if I will be able to tell that they need to be replaced, or if because of the "hard" soles, they have a longer life?

I did find out that I shouldn't be wearing them to and from the gym and to the errands I do on the way home or the housecleaning I begin when I get home.... lol... oops! d'oh I just found them really comfortable but wasn't supposed to be doing that. It seems obvious, but I'm lazy I guess. And maybe I need more comfortable shoes to actually do those other things!

Just wondering, because I did order two more pairs from the recent Reebok sale, but want to be sure to maximize their lifespan whenever I start wearing them.

Thanks in advance!

Personally, I workout at home and lift barefoot, but if you don't wear them for running around town and use them solely for lifting they should last a long time! If you wear them while "out and about" you will most likely find that they wear unevenly (just like normal shoes) and you might lose some of that side to side support you gain by the flat sole. As long as the soles aren't wearing unevenly and they feel like they are still providing adequate support I would keep using them!

That's a good idea -- I'll keep an eye on the bottoms to watch the wearing... additionally, the two new pairs I got will be used strictly inside gym only. Thanks for the input!

I do the bottoms check as well. The lifting shoes I have are minimalist shoes (Inov8 and Merrill) so I think the sides will go first? In any case, I think lifting shoes will last way longer than running shoes - running shoes seem to be a lot more "technical," if that makes sense.
