plateau-- what next?
hey! quick background-- I did a metabolism reset for about 4 months and started a cut in February (about 400-500 cals a day)... was able to lose about a pound a week so I'm down 6-7 pounds! about three weeks ago I noticed I hit a plateau but this also corresponded with big increase in my activity level (yes I adjusted my calorie intake accordingly... I use my Fitbit to determine intake).... do you guys think it's time for a break from cutting or is it more that I'm developing muscle and this is causing the lack of loss on the scale? thanks!

RE: plateau-- what next?
Well, first of all, congrats on the great success so far! That's awesome!

Yes, if you have been eating at a deficit since February it's definitely time for a TDEE diet break. I would try at least a week or two at TDEE before returning to a cut. You can expect a small jump on the scale as you return to TDEE, but that should trend downwards after a few days...

Keep us updated ... we love to hear how things are progressing!

RE: plateau-- what next?
I know you won't be supposed to hear this but I took a two week cut break and I'm back on track losing! I've officially lost 10 pounds since I started my cut (after a looooong metabolism reset) in February. It's a slow process but it works and I know it's the healthiest and safest way to lose weight! Thanks to all of you for your help. I'll keep you posted happy
