Eating More with IBS Symptoms?
I'm having trouble getting all of my protein in. If I supplement with whey or pea protein powders I pay for days....bloated, gassy and in the bathroom a LOT. I feel better if I only eat animal protein once or twice a day/higher healthy fats like nuts, avocado and olive oil. I've tried legumes and can only eat very small amounts without two days of pain after. Any suggestions?

RE: Eating More with IBS Symptoms?
Eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tofu all come to mind quickly (if you could handle any of those) If you are on Pinterest, follow our Vegetarian and High Protein Recipe Ideas boards. Both have lots of great ideas, and some infographics that show the protein amounts in a variety of vegetarian options. There are a lot of vegans out there able to rock 30% ... it just takes the right combination of foods

There are lots of options out there, just need to hunt them down. Are you on MFP? Send a FR to empressichel ... she is a vegan who ROCKS the protein!

Hey,
Just came across your post. I suffered with IBS for years, since High School and I am currently 26 and free for the last year of most of my symptoms. I tried every diet and nothing helped. I finally discovered the FODMAP diet and it saved my life. After doing it strictly for 6 months I felt like a new person. The best part is I can now eat almost all the foods that bothered me in the past with no symptoms. Just wanted to share and hope it helps someone else since it really helped me!
