Yasmine's Journal

RE: Yasmine's Journal
Update:
I've been eating 1900 kcal for the last six days and my weight has not gone up. Shall I tomorrow already increase to 2000?
I can't believe my weight gain has stopped now. I'm at the same weight as two weeks ago (60.7 kg/ 138 lbs). The highest weight ever has been at the beginning of this week but it was because of the weekend! Normally that's the reason why I never weigh on mondays... But I started using TrendWeight and try to fill in as much data as possible.

If your weight has been stable I'd go up to 2000 calories, it's such an exciting feeling knowing you are eating X more and there is no weight gain. It helps to over come so many fears doesn't it? Good luck!

No old roads lead to new destinations.

RE: Yasmine's Journal
So today it looks totally different. I "gained" 0.8 kg overnight. Maybe its because TOM arrived yesterday? But than, why was it lower yesterday? The weirdest thing is that today I felt less flabby, more firm... And than I saw the number on the scale and just don't know why. Bodys are a mystery!
I'm going to eat 1900 for another week I think.

RE: Yasmine's Journal
Nothing wrong with sticking with 1900 for another week...or until your weight settles back down. That could be in two days or two weeks, but increase when you're mentally ready.

RE: Yasmine's Journal
So, the week is over and I haven't gained or lost. I'm exactly the same as I was when I increased to 1900 kcal. But the weight made big ups and downs in this time... From 59.9 to 61.5. Now it's back at 60.8 kg (134 lbs).
So I can increase to 2000. Wow, this number seems so huge. I should change my breakfast routine (only 200 kcal) because now I always had to eat 1000 kcal in the evening and sometimes it felt like too much and I couldn't fall asleep easily.
My breakfast is porridge with Yoghurt in it. Do you have any suggestions for that? I prefer warm breakfasts. One way would be to just increase the amount of porridge but it already is a big bowl so I'm not sure if this would be a good option.

You could add raisins, or nuts. 1 oz of walnuts is about 190 calories, so you would take care of your increase and take 90 calories away from your evening. Could also add some protein powder to your porridge or fruit. Congratulations and enjoy being in the 2s (2000!) How exciting!

Hi Yasmine,

That is great news that your weight is stabilising when you are eating more. It must feel so good to be at this stage of your recovery and metabolism reset. Well done to you :-)

RE: Yasmine's Journal
I'm eating 2000 kcal and sometimes still am hungry in the evening. While I was eating 1700 for example I had the feeling that I could easily go back to 1200 kcal if I had to. But now I can't imagine this anymore...

So, my weigth is going up since I increased almost two weeksago. Should I still eat 2000? Could it be that my TDEE is around 1900?

Yesterday I bought myself an activity tracker (fitbit charge 2). So I hope it motivates me to move a bit more in the evening. Because until now I usually just stayed on the couch after dinner for reading books once my workout was done. I'm interested in the calories that the activity tracker gives me. It workea with a heart rate sensor, so it could be pretty accurate. Anyway, these are just the calories my body would need if I never had an eating disorder...

What is the Fitbit giving you? I'm curious to hear how it goes!

RE: Yasmine's Journal
I would be curious to hear what Fitbit is giving you also. Is your weight the last two weeks bouncing around or increasing a little bit every day? What is TrendWeight saying in terms of your trend? And has your activity level, macros, fiber, and water been consistent? Since your calculated TDEE was 2100, I would doubt that your TDEE is 1900...but given the history you listed in your initial posts, it may just be taking your body longer to adjust to this higher calorie level or you may still be dealing with a suppressed metabolism. And as we get closer to TDEE, the recommendation really is to sit at a calorie level for at least a month to either allow the body time to adjust or to clearly demonstrate a slow, steady increase. Can you stick with it for another couple weeks? If not, maybe just reduce 50 calories and see if your body stabilizes there...and then try 25 or 50 calorie increases.

In the end, you have to decide what you can handle mentally and physically. I ended up sticking at 2700 for a whole month which turned out to be an exceeding of TDEE and about a 3 pound gain..but it helped down the road because I knew that I knew that I knew that I had. If I had cut that period short, I would always be second guessing myself now.
