Yasmine's Journal

RE: Yasmine's Journal
Thank you, Jules and Tereza for your support!
I will check out all these options for my next workout routine.

My progress pictures seem to be changing. But I think I have still body dysmorphia and therefore can't tell how much and what exactly is changing. I think I have more muscles now but also more fat. I'm eating about 2100 calories a day now and will just go on with this. Usually I'm not hungry with this amount but I realise that I shouldn't "save " so many calories for the evening because sometimes I get too stuffed.

RE: Yasmine's Journal
U have already got good suggestions but as far as my exeperience with eating more(as i was a low eater almost all my life) scale weight may increase due to water retention butvwhat about your measurements? If you are increasing inches too then most probably you are gaining fat. This is what happened to me while finding tdee. I gained and gained the scale weight which never came down. But once i dropped my cals to 100 less it got stable and i stayed there for 12 weeks. As i usually stay at home i also found out my tdee to be 2300 somewhere between light and moderate active. So while staying at the same number for 3 to 4 weeks if u r still gaining decrease to -100 and see if the weight gets stable at least.

RE: Yasmine's Journal
Yasmine, I was a calorie hoarder for a long time. I'd save as many calories as I could for the night, afraid that I'd be hungry or that I would want snacks and blow up the budget if I ate through the day. It is something definitely related to the diet mentality that we have deeply ingrained in ourselves. Also the body dysmorphia can prevent you from truly appreciate what's happening with your body. Sometimes we need someone else to look at our before and after picture to pinpoint exactly what's happening. I usually do that with my clients, I circle every little change that the pictures show and then, only then, they see improvement. If you'd like me to do that for you, you can PM me your pics and I'lol PM them back to you.

Plus when we are building/rebuilding muscle, it will push out the fat layer that we have on top of it, making us look bigger, fluffier. As the muscle develops and we start burning a bit more calories and go for small cuts and fat loss happens, we see those areas "de-puffing" and become smaller. That happens specially in the stomach, thighs and buttocks, but you can see it every where.

RE: Yasmine's Journal
Wow, it's been such a long time since my last post. And also since my last login on em2wl...
i started to travel at the end of september and this changed my hole routine. I stopped working out but I started to walk a bit. We are travelling with a van so it's not that much walking but we're trying to do a longer mountain hike every week.
I'm eating intuitively but I guess that it's usually between 1600 and 2200. I'm for sure eating to many carbs and not enough protein. But I found out that I can't digest milk and so I try to reduce the intake of dairy. My gut and stomach is so much better since I leave it aside... I've had a hurting gut for so long that I forgot how it is to just have a normal digestion.
I have no idea about my weight and this sometimes feels strange because I still struggle with body dismorphia. But my boyfriend is really helpful in times of bad body images. It seems that my weight stayed moreless the same as at the begin of my travels. But I would love to know the exact weight! I'm still worrying a lot about my weight and how my stomach or my legs or whatever look. But I can say that my ED thoughts have disappeared even more with travelling.
The last weeks there came the thought of cutting to my mind. But I don't know how easy it would be to do it without counting calories and with no scale and whilst travelling. My biggest fear would be to not eat enough .But maybe it wouldn't be that hard to just leave aside some small things every day... we'll see!

RE: Yasmine's Journal
Travelling really helped with my anorexia recovery as well. I'd just go with flow for now while you are travelling, it will help loosen your tight grip on being in control /how you look/ how you think you look. Leave the cut till you get back. It really good that you have a supportive boyfriend happy

RE: Yasmine's Journal
West nailed it! Enjoy this time to learn more about yourself, losen up and just to get rid of the the dieting mindset. This time will never come back and this trip will be part of your memories for life!

Make of this a long chill, with the purpose of practicing self love and acceptance. Feed your mind and your body. Once you get back home and settle down, then you think about a cut.

Have fun!
