RE: Eat, Play, Write
Still very consistent - yay! 6 days within 0.2 lb. My average for the past week is 2115, so I guess my TDEE is a bit under 2150. Anyway, I'm starting a small cut today - aiming for 2000 (5%) to see what happens. If I start losing, I'll stay there for a while. If not after a week, I'll go to 10%. I'm not in a hurry, but would like to see a downward trend. We're moving in 6 weeks, so the cut will be no longer than that and maybe not that long. Anyway, I'm excited to see what happens next!

Starting weight in Nov. - ~145

RE: Eat, Play, Write
Happy St. Patrick's Day! I started my cut yesterday. Pretty easy - just a little here and a little there and more veggies. :-) My weight is down this morning, which I'll attribute partly to the -200 calories, and partly to schlepping heavy desks & cabinets to the garage for sale. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next couple of weeks. (Certainly doesn't feel like a diet! Yay!)

No need to feel like you are on diet or depriving yourself. No need to feel like you are tired and hungry all the time. Don't forget to add your break in a few weeks. Plan for it.

Moving boxes is definitely a workout!

How are you feeling with the lower cals? I'm afraid I'd feel hungry!

It's great that your weight has been stable and you seem to have found your TDEE or close to it. Yay for you!

I'm hungry by meal & snack times, but not overly so, and I'm not really hungry the rest of the time. So far, so good!

RE: Eat, Play, Write
Good morning! Well, 3 days into my ~10% cut -- average 1957 calories -- and nothing much is happening. I did have Chinese yesterday, so sodium... I wasn't particularly hungry (except at meal/snack times) until this morning, but I had breakfast an hour ago and I'm hungry. I think I need to increase my breakfast protein & fat to fend this feeling off. Otherwise, I'm hoping to see a slow downward trend before long.

RE: Eat, Play, Write
I don't know what came over me yesterday, but I ate ate ate - 2974 calories! Whoa! It was the fabulous lemon cruller (!!!) at church -- delish, and I haven't had anything like that in quite a while. I do think the sugar/carb/fat blast set me up to eat more the rest of the day, though - I felt hungry, and usually I don't except at meal times. I considered cutting way back the rest of the day, but decided no, I need to eat normally to counterbalance the sugar. Back on track today (that's the plan, anyway!)

Happy Equinox -- Spring in the northern hemisphere, autumn in the southern!

RE: Eat, Play, Write
From Feb 25 until now you have been decreasing cals. Then you added a cut. Your body doesn't know what is going on, why food isn't available in the same amounts anymore. Then it just snapped on you and once you were in a situation with scrumptiously tasty food, it just happened. Hunger is the way the body signals you to eat more.

It's not even a willpower or self-control issue, is just your body/brain working to keep you going. I'm glad you decided to eat normally for the rest of the day. The diet mentality tried to get you to deprive yourself, but you didn't listen, way to go!

I'm not sure that's it in this case. I think the massive dose of fried sugary carbs in the morning, even though I had had my regular breakfast, triggered hunger the rest of the day.
