RE: Eat, Play, Write
Back on track yesterday with calories & macros. Hunger levels/patterns back to normal, too, so I'm sure my appetite on Sunday was indeed triggered by that dose of sugary fat in the morning. Not saying I'll never do that again, but I will be aware of what follows! I'm having some trouble fitting in exercise time with all the running around associated with preparing to move, but I did manage to get a 40-min walk in yesterday. And then there's packing and schlepping boxes around! My weight is still holding steady, which is no surprise as my average calories for the past 7 days was 2112 (I had been eating 2115, which I think is very close to my TDEE at my current exercise level).

Starting weight in Nov. - ~145
@~2125/day - 1-10 to 1-30 up & back down 148.2-149.4
@2000/day -- 1-31 to 2-10 up & back down, 149.4-150.4
@2128-2190/day -- 2-12 to 2-18 up & back down, 150 to 151.2
@ average 2225 -- 2-19 to 2-24 down & back up 151 to 152.6
@2360-2400 -- 2-25 to 3-4 steady rise from 152.2 to 155 - eeeek!
@2143-2260 -- 3-5 to 3-10 while not tracking - down-up-down a pinch 155-153.8
@2150 -- 3-11 to 3-16 -- 154.6-154.8
@1900 cut (10%)
3-17 153.6
3-18 154.6
3-19 154.6 (oops - ~3,000 calories!)
3-20 155.6
3-21 154.8

BMR - 1296
TDEE - ~ 2115
Average past 7 days - 2112

RE: Eat, Play, Write
OK, you guys win. I've decided to drop the (possibly premature) cut, mainly because I'm hungry. :-) My average calories for the past 12 weeks has been 2064, and in that time I've gained 6.5 pounds, so not too bad. (Total gain since I started EM2WL = ~10lb.) I felt very comfortable at ~2100, so I'm returning to that level and staying there until we move in 4 weeks. I probably won't be able to track very well as we drive across the country, but I'll try to stay close to that level, and return to it once we land. Then hopefully I will get back to my usual exercise level with new walking/hiking places to explore & get back to some weight training and see what happens. I've also decided to (try to) stop paying attention to daily changes and go with weekly averages. Thanks again for all the inspirations, stories, nudges, and companionship.

Average weights & calories for weeks ending....
5-Nov 143.4 1761
5-Nov Started EM2WL
12-Nov 145.6 1840
19-Nov 145.2 1833

14-Jan 148.6 2044
21-Jan 148.6 2110

Sheila, I admire you!
Feeling hungry sucks and cutting while you are getting ready for such a change in your life is not always the best choice. Stay close to maintenance for now. Once you settle in your new place and have your routine stabelished, it will be way less stressful to cut than now.

Deep breath, you are in the right path, trust me, trust the process. Weekly averages is the way to go.

Thanks, Tereza. I don't think all my indecisions and erratic path are very admirable, other than my willingness to experiment, I guess. :-)

RE: Eat, Play, Write
You willingness to experiment, your determination and the fact that you think about things, even though you don't like them at first are admirable for sure! Being consistent doesn't mean being perfect. Try the 80/20 approach, leave 20% of the time for imperfections. If that's too much, do 70/30 or 60/40.

You must be getting very excited about your move! Definitely think you've made the right choice to ditch the cut for the time being, too many other way more important things going on in your life right now to be throwing that into the mix.

RE: Eat, Play, Write
Average calories for the past 7 days on target for 2100, and average weight steady at the moment. It will be interesting to see if I actually lose any weight at this calorie level since I was a few pounds lighter at this level before I increased from Feb 12-March 4. Not my goal at the moment, just a point of curiosity.

I'm obviously still weighing in every morning, but looking at averages rather than daily ups & downs is much less disturbing!

RE: Eat, Play, Write
I haven't packed the scale away quite yet, Tereza. big grin I'm holding pretty steady - bounced up a little but I know it was sodium from a lunch splurge (homemade potato chips @ local eatery!). My biggest issue at the moment is hunger -- I'm hungry all the time, it seems. Even shortly after meals. I'm hitting my macros pretty close, so I'm hoping this is just a phase that will pass, especially since I'm really not getting my usual exercise (although I'm determined to wedge my walks back into my schedule because I miss them!). I don't really want to add calories at the moment since my weight is very stable - I want to ride that consistency for a while, then maybe increase a bit (especially as my exercise gets back to normal).

Feedback welcome. I hope everyone else is doing well. Have a lovely weekend!
