RE: Eat, Play, Write
Hi all! I thought about leaving the forums bec. it seemed I was alone, but I'm happy to see a bit more activity. This venue just seems more intimate and less exposed than FB, so I like it better for questions/soul searching.

I continue to eat without aiming for particular calories. This past week I averaged 1610 calories and hit 25/30/45 P/C/F . Weight down slightly since last time I checked in, which may mean nothing or something. Even so, I still think my TDEE is around 1500 at the moment. Anyway, 2 weeks until we move again, so I'm just eating and not worrying about it.

Glad to see people here again!

Hey Sheila, I totally understand the fact that you like this platform better.
Good to hear you are doing well, but it still seems to me that your intake is way too close to your BMR. How's the weather where you live? have you been able to walk/hike?

No, my BMR on various calculators is anywhere from 1150-1300, most closer to 1150-1225, so I don't think I'm too low, esp. since I'm neither gaining nor losing (unless this week signals a downward trend). Remember, I'm older than you :-). We've had a few days of good weather so I've had a few walks, and I'm packing, so eating a little more than last week. But rain is on the way again. After we move I know my activity will pick up, so I'll recalculate then.

Tereza, the EM2WL calculator puts my BMR at 1278. Some others put it lower, one put it higher.

I know you aren't as active as before, but I wonder if maybe you are picking an activity level that is too low. How tall are you again?

RE: Eat, Play, Write
Hi all! I thought I'd update again to keep to my Sunday schedule. Holding steady at ~1500 calories. I'm still not planning much, just eating when hungry and, happily, hitting close to macro targets more or less by instinct, which makes me think I've learned to be hungry for the right things in the right amounts. The weather forecast is excellent for the next couple of weeks, so I'm hoping to get more exercise (walks by the river!) and eat a little more as I do. But as long as I'm not hungry, I think all is well. :-)

Have a lovely week!

RE: Eat, Play, Write
Hi there. This will be my last check in for a while as we hit the road (again) on Friday, if all goes as planned. The forecast looks good, so if it's accurate (fingers & toes crossed!), we expect the drive to take a week, give or take a day. I may track food as well as I can, but I'm not worried about it. When we did a long drive last May I ate like a horse and actually lost weight (who knew driving used so many calories?). Anyway, I'll be back eventually, if anyone's still here. :-)

I think my TDEE estimate is pretty accurate - consistently averaging ~1500 and maintaining 147-148.

Have a sweet Valentine's Day! lovestruck Heartrose
