RE: Eat, Play, Write
Sorry Sheila, it sure is hard, I agree! I think it does take 4-6 weeks for us to observe how our bodies will respond to a particular calorie level, when you are close to your calculated TDEE. So, either patiently wait this level of 2100 out to see what happens, or maybe cut back 50 to 100 cals if you feel more comfortable with that.

Consider this: My weight has gone down the last couple of days, just entering week 8 at 2200 calories. Yes, I saw a number on the scale today that was lower than any number in the last 3 weeks or so! So, who knows what will happen . . . our bodies will do what they will do!

That's encouraging for sure, Frosty. I'm going to ride it out at least 4 weeks. I think. :-). Congrats on your lower weigh in!

RE: Eat, Play, Write
I've just tried on 3 shirts that I've been wearing since fall, all used to fit great, all 3 are uncomfortably tight and make me feel/look like a sausage. Very unhappy here.

RE: Eat, Play, Write
Why is it we celebrate losing 1lb overnight which we know that amount is water weight yet when we gain 1lb overnight, again we know is water weight we lose our minds? Breathe. If that top is a tad too tight don't wear it right now, do not torture yourself. Breathe, your weight is stable. You can do this. I believe in you.

No old roads lead to new destinations.

True to some extent. I'm actually up 5 lb since I started, hence the tighter tops. My only mid-weight running tops for current weather, so I kind of need them! But I'll keep on a bit longer.... Thanks for the support.

Look at the bigger picture 5lbs isn't a lot right? happy Look at everything you have gained, that will make you feel so much better. 5lbs, is only temporary. Having your freedom back from yoyo dieting, now that is priceless.

No old roads lead to new destinations.

That is hard about the clothes feeling tight! Well, I've gained 11 pounds so far. So you've got a ways to go to catch up to me, your mini-me!

This is temporary, right? We will lose the weight in the future. Right now we want to feed our bodies and let them heal!

You are right see it is temporary. It's about healing our body, our mind, our spirits.

Don't worry when I start gaining I will be in the same boat nail biting That makes me nervous right now. We can do this, together.

Frosty, yes, it is temporary. Have you reached TDEE yet? This is the thoughest part of the process (well, except for cut, when you start cutting cals, you will miss each one of them, trust me). Use this time to nurture your self love, loving you and appreciating what your body does for you in each and every step of this journey. It's hard to get dressed when your clothes don't feel right. RE: Eat, Play, Write
Go figure - down a pound this morning to where I was when I started 2100/day. Today makes 2 weeks @ 2100, and I plan to stay here at least another day or two to see what happens before I increase. If the calculator is close, then so am I. I'm thinking that if my weight stays pretty level for the next couple of days, I'll increase to 2200 and try to relax about whatever happens. I had also missed my usual exercise for a couple of weeks - injured foot, nasty weather, bad cold...but I got back in the swing yesterday and am heading out for a "wrun" (walk/run intervals) in a bit. Have started regular weight training sessions 3 days a week, building slowly. Feeling more encouraged, thanks in large part to this community, so thank you again! :-)

Starting weight 11-21 - 144
Past 2 weeks
1-10 148.2
1-11 148.2
1-12 149
1-13 148-8
1-14 148.6
1-15 148.6
1-16 149.4
1-17 148.8
1-18 148.8
1-19 149.4
1-20 150
1-21 148.6
1-22 149.2
1-23 148.2

BMR - 1271
TDEE - 2191 (estimated - Strenuous)
Calorie average past week - 2103
Weight average past week - 149
Began 2100/day on 1-11
