Okay, I'm back, a little frustrated, more inspired, and ready to listen. I cut back the past 5 days, and I'm done with that. HUNGRY! And not losing anyway. So, I've had my little tantrum and now I'm back on board. I'm going to try 2000 for a couple of weeks and see what happens. I was at 2100 (and gaining steadily) before I cut, but I think that was a little too high too soon, so I'll try 2000 for now. I'm also getting back to my normal exercise level, and have added some weight training, so I have recalculated my estimated TDEE. I plan to increase more slowly than last time. So that's where I am.
I'm also meditating regularly (I used to, but got out of the habit). I'm about 2 months back into daily meditation + once-a-week Zen group, and I feel much more grounded and calm. That can't hurt! Thanks again to everyone who has patiently tried to point me in this direction. Sometimes we just have to stagger around until we accept the path.
