Yesterday I got through dinner with only ~1600. including my popcorn & cheese planned for later, and I felt really satisfied. I did make myself eat another 530 calories to hit 2150, but it didn't feel right. How important is it really to hit the goal on days when we're satisfied with a lower intake? Isn't that sort of the point of living free of "diet pressure"? Most days I'm hungry for the rest of the calories, so it wouldn't be a constant "cut," but how much would a low-cal day occasionally hurt the quest for the holy grail of TDEE?

@~2125/day - 1-10 to 1-30 up & back down 148.2-149.4
@2000/day -- 1-31 to 2-10 up & back down, 149.4-150.4
@2128-2190/day -- 2-12 to 2-18 up & back down, 150 to 151.2
@ average 2225 -- 2-19 to 2-24 down & back up 151 to 152.6
@2360-2400 -- 2-25 to 3-4 steady rise from 152.2 to 155 - eeeek!

I've decided to do a cut. I'm may or may not stick with 2150 through this coming week to see if I'm as stable at this level as I think, and then I'm going to cut 10-15% until the end of April, when we'll be moving and I won't want to track that closely. I've been eating 2000-24000 since January, so even if I haven't "found TDEE" (which is beginning to feel like as much of a crazed obsession as dieting can), this just feels like the right thing to do. If it's a mistake, I'll learn from it. If not, I'll learn from that, too. Onward!

Good morning! Holding steady at 2150. I packed 8 boxes of books yesterday and lugged them to the garage "holding area," and helped move a couple of heavy pieces of furniture around and then load them into vehicles (selling stuff), plus general running around -- I'm counting that as exercise!

My weight each of the past 3 days = 154.8. Average weight the past 7 days & for the 7 days before that both = 154.5, average calories for past 2 weeks = 2179 (some days considerably higher, a couple of days ~100-200 lower. I was gaining at 2200. I think I'm close. (Yes, I know I haven't stayed as long as recommended, but part of this process is learning to trust our bodies, and this just feels right.)

Looks like the weight is staying pretty stable! You must be close to your TDEE!

I agree, moving stuff counts as exercise!
