Others ideas include switching any diet/low fat food for the real versions. The easiest way to increase protein is to add a little bit more at every meal. If you are eating 4 oz of chicken, eat 5 instead.

I am pretty amazed with the EM2WL process of increasing calories with the end goal of finding TDEE before cutting. I basically started two weeks ago (Starter Kit and training manual, soaking up the forum knowledge) and have increased 100 calories per day for each of the two weeks. After the first week, I was thrilled b/c my weight stabilized after a temporary bloat and scale increase. And now, after the second week I am even more thrilled because the scale went back down again right where it was before increasing calories two weeks ago!

lbhope TDEE is a ways off, I'm enjoying the food because I get pretty hungry when the time to eat rolls around. wink I must have really been starving myself-- done with that!

You are most welcome! We know that this process is different from what we usually see. The diet industry would not prospere without dieting us fat. But we do see a trend of studies in this area, showing the the usual approach does not work (Biggest Loser aftermath, for example).

But we also know that consistency and patience don't always sound as exciting as the newest fad. Keep working your way up, keep lifting, this journey is for life!
