Wink New with a couple of questions
Hi everyone! I’m new here and I have two questions. I hope they’re okay to post here:

1) I’m a vegetarian trying to eat around 2000 calories a day (that’s a 15% cut) which means if I’m aiming for 40/30/30, that’s 150g of protein a day. This is SO hard for me to hit. I can usually get to 130g without too much difficulty. Should I be changing my macro goals in order to make the protein one more attainable?
2) how do you deal with a day when you aren’t as hungry as usual? Is it okay to not eat all your calories, especially if the day before you have probably gone over your daily calorie allotment (a special night out with dinner, drinks, dessert)? Today I’ve slept in and am definitely full from yesterday. Is that alright occasionally?

RE: New with a couple of questions
Welcome!

2000 is a great calorie goal. For vegans and vegetarians the 30% protein goal does not go down (actually the recommendation goes up to 35%). Yes, it is hard in the beginning and it’s ok to take your time increasing. Here is the most recent post on vegan protein: http://eatmore2weighless.com/vegan-protein/ .

It is perfectly normal not to feel hungry a few days a week as you start increasing your calories. But it will change and eventually it will be second nature to eat all your calories.

RE: New with a couple of questions
Thank you! A couple more questions if you don’t mind:

1) this week I have been managing to get to 40/30/30 but occasionally it means eating around 2100 calories in order to meet those goals. Is that okay sometimes?

2) if I change my protein goal to 35%, what do I do for carbs and fat? 35 for carbs and 30 for fat?
