RE: What to expect once hit cut?
..I also wanted to add that I am not doing any cardio, just the strength training with 40 squats before beginning each session.

So glad to hear from you!

So what calorie level did you re-set at, the 2,380? If so, what did your weight do during that 8 week re-set? Give us just a little more info so we can make a more informed response, and we will be happy to help you however we can :-)

I gained 6 pounds during the reset, and yes, I did reset at 2380.

RE: What to expect once hit cut?
Did your weight finally stabilize towards the end of that 8 week period?

Depending on how damaged your metabolism might (or might not) have been, it can often take weeks (sometimes even months) before you really start to see measurable progress. Those whose metabolisms have slowed down a lot from VLC Dieting often have to go back and eat at TDEE for another month or two. Certainly every individual is different, and the process often requires lots of "tweaking"of calories.

I would definitely say that you fall into the Moderate category (as do most people). I would re-figure your TDEE on Scooby using your new exercise level as well as your new weight and take your cut from there. You may find that with the increased exercise that your cut is actually too steep at this point...

RE: What to expect once hit cut?
Yes, my weight did stabilize prior to resetting. I figured I was at a moderate level, even though i'm sedentary. I was never VLCD, I have just never been consistent with my calorie intake so I never knew what I needed to do in order to lose/maintain weight. Like I mentioned before, the lowest I ever ate was 1400 cals, and that lasted for maybe 2-3 months. The majority of the time, I was consuming 1500-1600 cals, which is about 100-200 below my BMR of 1730. I figured I needed to do a reset to force me to stick to a set number to achieve and maintain weight loss, a number that was not anywhere below my BMR. At this point, due to my being unemployed, purchasing more food to make up the calorie deficit would be a hardship. What I will do is reduce the lifting to 2-3 times a week as opposed to 4 times a week in order to balance things out.

Does this sound like a reasonable goal? Should I still do a diet break at 4 weeks regardless of my cut results?

RE: What to expect once hit cut?
Hi everyone. I have a question about cut. I'm five days into my 15% cut now and haven't been hungry at all. Is that a bad sign, or not necessarily? I've been drinking a TON of water all week so not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I don't think it is a bad sign at all... A 15% cut is pretty small, really the equivalent of a handful of almonds. That is the good thing about EM2WL - no need to starve or walk around feeling ravenous! In fact, I often think that when I feel hungry when I am on a cut it is more mental that physical laughing

Okay good! Everyone always talks about the ravenous hunger when they start cut. Since I don't have that I've been worried all week that my metabolism isn't in a good place.
